Eduloco: Brand Awareness & Social Media Growth
Introduction

Eduloco is a student recruitment agency that aims to accelerate the entire student recruitment process – through a single app.

Problem
As a startup, Eduloco struggled with low brand awareness among Gen Z and needed to increase mobile app downloads to support its mission as a student recruitment platform simplifying the study abroad process.
My Role
Build an online brand presence and grow a community of Gen Z followers on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
Research & Planning
Understanding the Audience: Conducted a deep dive into Gen Z’s preferences and challenges regarding studying abroad. Created detailed student personas to identify their pain points and develop targeted solutions.
Content Creation
Website Articles: Wrote SEO-optimized articles addressing common concerns, such as cultural adjustment and scholarships, to drive organic traffic and provide value to students.
Social Media Content: Designed TikTok and Instagram content tailored to Gen Z. Used humour and relatable themes, such as cultural differences and travel tips, to connect with the audience.
Email Campaigns: Developed bi-weekly newsletters featuring scholarship opportunities, local and international universities, and a direct link to schedule free consultations with education consultants.
Results
Viral TikTok video reached 600k views and received 8,900 likes, sparking conversations about studying abroad.
Grew Instagram following to 6,000+ within 4 months by consistently posting student-centred content.
Social Media Reels
I realised that many Malaysian students were afraid of studying abroad in fear that they could not fit in the culture. Since most of our target audience were on TikTok, I put together short videos that showed culture differences with elements of comedy and humour.
The video went viral with 600k views and 8,900 likes. Watch it here.

Social Media Postings

Social Media Strategy: The Netflix show 'Squid Game' was trending on IG. We took advantage of that to create a meme that was both funny and relatable. It gained 300+ likes and 20 comments.
